USLCI+ Database
The USLCI+ data library contains the USLCI and the US Electricity Baseline databases provided by the Federal LCA Commons. The USLCI database provides individual gate-to-gate, cradle-to-gate, and cradle-to-grave accounting of the energy and material flows into and out of the environment that are associated with producing a material, component, or assembly in the United States. USLCI+ (version 1.2024-10.0) is included in SimaPro Craft and available for all users.

Why choose USLCI+ database?
Unique coverage of the US market
Datasets in the USLCI+ database are representative of US and North American markets. USLCI+ incorporates the US Electricity Baseline which provides a full life cycle inventory of US electricity consumption, including fossil and non-fossil supply chains.
Data transparency
Datasets in USLCI are required to follow the metadata guidance laid out in the Federal LCA Commons Submission Handbook. Thorough documentation of scope, methodology, and data sources is provided in most datasets.
Publicly accessible
USLCI and other Federal LCA Commons databases offer data providers the opportunity to share complete, representative, and well-documented LCI data to a public repository. As a result, users can access to transparent and representative LCI data.
Database contents
Unit and system life cycle inventory (LCI) datasets are submitted to National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) by consulting, academia, & industry associations. The USLCI database has more than 550 process LCIs ranging from fuels combustion, transport, metals, chemicals, resins, paper, etc. to electronics and building materials. Versions 1.2024-06.0 and later incorporate the Electricity Baseline repository as a library into USLCI.

About the developer
Since 2017, the USLCI Database is a repository on the Federal LCA Commons Collaboration Server. National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is collaborating with the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the National Energy Technology Library (NETL), the Argonne National Laboratory (ANL), the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the US Forest Service (USFS), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the National Institute of Standards and Technologies (NIST) to develop a US Federal LCA Data Commons. This ongoing effort endeavors to provide improved and coordinated access to Federal LCA data.
