EcoDesigner assesses Fusion drawings by fetching their bill of materials and sending it to SimaPro Synergy. SimaPro Synergy calculates the environmental impact and sends it back to the app where you can easily compare the impact of different components.

EcoDesigner supports product designers and LCA experts in their eco-design efforts and helps them design sustainable products by offering insights into which components and materials have the highest environmental impact. Multiple design options can be assessed in iterations to understand which adjustments positively contribute to the overall impact of the design.
How it works
1. Log in using your Autodesk credentials.
2. EcoDesigner automatically loads your drawings from Fusion.
3. Click Calculate Impact and your drawings are assessed on environmental impact.
4. Assess the results in reports and 3D view and understand which components have a high environmental impact.
5. Write back the results to your Fusion models for bookkeeping.
6. Work in iterations to see the positive contribution of replacing or reducing the amount of material used.
EcoDesigner uses ecoinvent as a background database, and is created in partnership with Autodesk, Prototech Solutions and Torpedo.
